Strong in the Grace

2 Timothy 2:1— “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”

Delivered byPastor Emmanuel Mushi

01 / Summary

Strength for a soldier of Christ does not come from willpower or discipline alone. It is drawn from grace, received before it is ever demonstrated.

02 / Takeaway

Before you try harder this week, name one place you have been running on willpower instead of grace, and hand it back to God in prayer tonight.

03 / Quote
“Grace is not the opposite of discipline. It is the fuel for it.”

The Teaching

Paul is writing to Timothy from a prison cell, and the first instruction he gives is not to be braver or work harder. It is to be strong in grace. That order matters. A man who tries to fight for the Kingdom on willpower alone burns out fast, because willpower is a finite resource that runs on self. Grace is a supply line that runs on Christ. This week, look honestly at where you have substituted effort for grace. Where have you been trying to earn what has already been given? Confess it, receive it again, and let that be the strength you carry into your home, your work and your squad.
