Iron Sharpens Iron

Proverbs 27:17— “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

Delivered byCaptain Daniel Kessy

01 / Summary

Sharpening requires friction. A brotherhood that avoids all correction to keep the peace will stay dull.

02 / Takeaway

Give one honest piece of feedback to a brother this week, and ask one brother to be honest with you in return.

03 / Quote
“A dull blade is not a peaceful blade. It is a useless one.”

The Teaching

Iron does not sharpen iron by sitting next to it quietly. It takes contact, pressure and friction. Squad Circles exist for exactly this reason, a closed room where men can say the honest thing without it leaking out and without it being used as a weapon. If every conversation in your circle is comfortable, you are not being sharpened, you are being entertained. Bring something real this cycle, and be ready to receive something real back.
